But Enough About Me.

Summary

This short essay is about a man named Brian Williams who is an tv news anchor. He is very concerned with the issue in this day in age, of how so many people out in the world are putting alot of their personal information about themselves out on the internet. He is saying that anybody is trusting the world wide web, and no one is taking a second thought of all that could go wrong by doing this. But Williams said that people should not put so much trust into the internet, because it can lead to serious consequences. Also he feels that only certain information should be on the internet about a person, and not their whole life story and very personal contact information. He also talks about how day by day, tv is constantly losing viewers, because of the internet and new electronics are taking over and replacing things that were already here. He feels that what is going on now should all stop.

Response

I would say I agree very much of what the author is trying to say. I feel the same that many people do share way to much information about themselves on the web. Like for instance many people put where their life story, sometimes not just the state or town they live in, but their street name and number. Many others put their real phone numbers, many claim that it is for their friends so that they can keep in contact with them. But sometimes it is not their close friends who see and take down their info, but half of the time it is a bunch of people or a person they don't know, and that one person can use all the information they have gathered to go after or to harrass that certain person. Sharing your personal information on on the internet is very risky business, once it's on the web its hard to get off. Williams is only trying to make a point that people should stop putting all of their trust in the internet and that a person's personal information does not belong on the internet, and that people should only have information that they know are suitable for others to know. But on the second hand I disagree with the second arguement that Williams is trying to make, I feel that new electronic devices and the internet are not responsible for lost tv viewings, new eletronic gear that are being made today are just trying merely to evolve the world to get used to more modern electronic uses. I think that if people become more aware of what the internet can do they could put a stop to many things, such as danger that may come with dealing with bad things on the web.
